To complete McCleary Hill, Delaware Valley Development Company partnered with the Housing Authority of the City of Hagerstown to redevelop approximately 250 units of severely distressed barracks-style public housing and to construction additional, new, affordable housing. As the first phase of this project, McCleary Hill I consisted of 68 new-construction rental units on new infrastructure. The community consists of 13 buildings comprised primarily of townhouses, but also including single level flats on first and second floors in some models. Much like its sister development, McCleary Hill II is comprised of 79 new-construction general occupancy units across 22 buildings. The development was designed to include a central park with accessory play areas and a new community center.
