Project Description
Highland Park is a newly constructed 81-unit family community located in Dillsburg, York County, Pennsylvania. A recipient of ARRA TCAP funds from PHFA, Highland Park was a challenge for the design professionals because of significant site features such as grades, water pressure and a sewage pump station. Additionally, the site had the potential habitat to two different species of amphibians that are protected. Located in a beautiful setting on a hillside with steep topography on the perimeter, DVDC and its professionals took great care in redesigning the site plan to respond to the protection of these potential habitat areas, while maintaining a site plan that was conducive to the planned housing program. The end result is a site plan that protects the potential habitat areas with a conservation easement and provides dramatic and pleasing curb appeal, yet still in a comfortable, livable setting for a residential community.
